The caravan site is an excellently placed central point for exploring the whole National Park, with its dramatic combination of Lakeland and soaring fells. The close proximity of Coniston Park Coppice Club Site to Coniston Water is a great bonus, for a short walk of 400 yards brings you to the lakeside launching point where you can enjoy watching or try your hand at a range of water sports such as dinghy sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. Coniston Park Coppice Caravan Club Site is a woodland site, very close to Coniston Water, and ideal launching point for a boating exploration of the Lake District. Additional activities within the area include cycling, rock climbing, guided pony treks around the fells and much more. With pitches grouped in open glades and easy access to the fun attractions of Coniston Water, the site offers a scenic, peaceful base for an active holiday that will keep the whole family happy, including its own mini adventure playground for children. Imaginatively landscaped, the campsite is set within 63 acres of beautiful National Trust woodland. It is very easy to book your pitch online with the advantage that a specific pitch can be chosen. There are designated pitches served with a 10amp power supply and a couple of less formal areas ideal for group bookings. As we got closer to the lakes the roads got narrower and more windy. The camping and caravan park has a mixture of grass and hard standing pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents. Once our larder and fridge were full and we were sure that we had enough booze to see us through to Cumbria we set off in convoy with Jenny and Rob. In the morning, after emptying and filling the necessary tanks we set off on the 4th leg heading for Lancaster Aldi to meet up with Jenny and Rob and to stock up with provisions. ![]() We spent a nice evening in The Golden Lion taking in the warmth and the good ale followed by a large malt and Gin respectively. We got settled in Settle and walked into town for a browse and a pint! We had planned to stay off grid in a car park but when we arrived the spaces were not as big as was described in the 'Park4night' app and we decided to move around the corner to the local rugby club where there was a caravan and camping club rally. We set off from Sandsend and headed for the north Yorkshire dales and our third nights stop over.
